How do I size my nails?

Coin Method (Photo Measurement) - Recommended 

  1. Place a dime (U.S. or similar coin) on a flat surface.
  2. Lay your fingers (and then thumb) flat beside the coin.
  3. Take a bird’s-eye photo ensuring coin and nails are on the same plane.
  4. Send the images to us—we'll use the coin to calculate the size accurately.

Measuring-Tape Method: Best with a flexible tape measure

  1. Use the millimeter side of a soft measuring tape.
  2. Wrap it across the widest part of your nail plate.
  3. Read and record the measurement in millimeters.
  4. Repeat for all ten nails—each fingertip is a different size!

Sticky-Tape (Ruler) Method: Ideal if you don’t have a flexible tape

  1. Stick a small strip of clear tape to your nail, pressing it down firmly.
  2. Mark the tape edges with a pen right where your natural nail ends.
  3. Remove the tape and lay it flat.
  4. Measure between markings on a ruler in mm and note each size.

Multi-Size Try-On Kit: Best for standard, size-graded sets

  1. Hold each pre-sized press-on against your natural nail before applying glue.
  2. Look for a fit that hugs the nail plate, isn’t too tight, and doesn’t press into skin.
  3. If in doubt, choose the larger size—then gently file it down to fit.

How do I put on my nails?

There are two ways to apply your press-on nails: nail glue (recommended) or sticky tabs. Both options are included with your nail set, along with a printed instruction card. Regardless of the method you choose, proper prep is essential for the best wear and finish.

For best results, we recommend applying your nails after showering or bathing, once your hands and nails are completely dry.

Nail Prep (Required for All Methods)

  1. Use the wooden cuticle stick included in your kit to gently push back your cuticles. Trimming is optional if needed.
  2. Lightly buff the surface of your natural nails using the softer grit side of the buffer. Be sure to remove shine and any debris near the cuticle area.
  3. Wash your hands with soap and water to remove dust, then dry completely.
  4. Clean each nail with the included alcohol pad to remove oils and residue.

Once prep is complete, follow the application method of your choice below.

Nail Glue Application (Recommended)

  1. Size each press-on nail so it fits side to side. If a nail is slightly small, choose the next size up and file the sides for a custom fit.
  2. Apply one drop of nail glue to your natural nail.
  3. Apply two to three drops of glue to the press-on nail.
  4. Allow the glue on the press-on nail to sit for at least 30 seconds, then gently blow on it to activate.
  5. Apply the press-on nail at a 45-degree angle, placing it near the cuticle and pressing down through the center and sides. Press firmly but gently to avoid excess glue seepage.
  6. Repeat for all nails.
  7. Optional: Add a small dot of glue underneath the free edge where the press-on meets your natural nail for extra hold.

Sticky Tab Application

Sticky tabs offer a temporary option and are ideal for short-term wear.

  1. Select a sticky tab that best fits your natural nail.
  2. Apply the sticky tab to your natural nail and press firmly to remove air bubbles.
  3. Peel off the backing and apply the press-on nail using the same 45-degree angle technique.
  4. Press firmly along the center and sides to secure.

How do I take off my nails and can I reuse them?

How do I remove my nails, and can they be reused?

Yes, your nails can be safely removed, and in many cases reused, depending on the application and removal method. We recommend one of the options below based on how your set was applied.

Acetone Soak-Off Method (Not Reusable)
This method is best for maximum wear but is not recommended if you plan to reuse your nails.

  1. Gently file the top layer of the press-on to break the seal.
  2. Soak cotton in acetone and place it on each nail.
  3. Wrap nails with foil and allow them to soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Gently slide the press-on off using a wooden cuticle stick. Do not force removal.
  5. Buff lightly and moisturize your nails after removal.

Because acetone dissolves the glue and can alter the structure of the press-on, nails removed this way are not reusable.

Mineral Oil Removal Method (Reusable Friendly)

This method is ideal if you want to preserve and reuse your nails.

  1. Apply mineral oil generously around the cuticle and underneath the edges of the press-on.
  2. Soak your nails in warm, soapy water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Use a wooden cuticle stick to gently lift the nail from the sides.
  4. Continue adding oil as needed and allow the nail to release naturally.
  5. Clean any remaining adhesive from the back of the press-on and store for reuse.

Never pull or force the nail off, as this can damage both your natural nail and the press-on.

  2. Gently lift the nail from the sides using a wooden cuticle stick.
  3. Remove any remaining sticky tab residue from both your natural nail and the press-on.
  4. Clean and store your nails for future use.

Sticky tab application is the easiest method for reuse and is ideal for short-term wear.

When will I get my order?

We process and ship all orders as quickly as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking and delivery details. Shipping times vary based on your location.

Premade sets typically ship within two (2) to three (3) business days. Custom sets may take up to fourteen (14) business days due to design, production, and shipping timelines. At this time, rush production is not available for custom orders.
Who makes all of the nail sets?

At the moment, Drop’d is a team of one. Lauren designs and creates every handmade set, all while working full time as a teacher, so we truly appreciate your patience when ordering custom nails. Each set is made to order, completely unique, and crafted just for you.
What types and designs of nails do you offer?

A core part of the Drop’d concept is delivering a fresh set of nails every month. We release more than 20 handmade designs each drop, inspired by current trends, seasonal fashion, and timeless styles. You will find everything from classic French tips and neutral tones to bold, statement-making sets.

We also offer custom nail sets made just for you and your occasion. Whether it is prom, a wedding, a vacation, or simply a well-deserved treat, our custom designs are created to match your style and moment.
How do I order custom nail sets?

We accept a limited number of custom nail orders each month to ensure every set receives the highest level of care and detail. A $25 non-refundable Custom Nail Set Deposit is required to reserve your place in the custom design queue and will be applied toward your final total.

After purchasing the deposit, you must complete the Custom Nail Set Intake Form using your order number. The form collects your preferred colors, theme, length, shape, and design details, along with inspiration images. Additional references can be emailed using your deposit order number as the subject line.
